Volunteer Release Form

Please print and complete this form and bring it with you to the Volunteer Desk. If the Volunteer is under 18 years old, the form must also be signed by a parent or legal guardian, but they do not need to physically appear with the Volunteer. If you have any questions, write to volunteers@conjose.org.

I am volunteering to work for ConJose, the 60th World Science Fiction Convention, held in San Jose, California. The official dates of the Worldcon are Thursday, August 29th through Monday, September 2nd, however, this release covers the entire period of working on ConJose including the Set-Up and Tear-Down for this event.

I understand that I will receive no payment for my services at ConJose. In addition, I understand that I am not an employee and that I will not be entitled to and will not receive any Workers' Compensation benefits or other similar payments under the law of any state in the event I am injured.

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless ConJose and the San Francisco Science Fiction Corporation, SFSFC, from any claim for personal injuries or other damages or equity arising out of my activities at ConJose.

I understand that the appreciation of the other attendees and the other Worldcon Volunteers (Committee, Staff, Program Participants, Hugo Award Nominees, etc.) may be the only benefit I will receive from this work. In the event that ConJose is financially able to do so after the convention, volunteers who work thirty or more hours will be eligible to have the cost of their membership reimbursed.

I have read the above release and state that I have understood it and that I am voluntarily signing it without any inducement or representation from any member of the staff.
