Deborah Strub, Angelique Trouvere w92m080.jpeg [33KB]: "Umi Kami" Deborah Strub designed and made this intriguing couple costume of Japanese sea spirits embodying the principles of Yin & Yang for herself and husband, Bernie. Based on 16th century Japanese court garb, she created a five layered kimono for herself and a winged vest for Bernie made from re-worked chicken wire, paper mache, gesso and glitter to resemble coral reefs and both sported webbed hands made from glittery spandex fabric. They were awarded the unique, "Cross Cultural Award for Authenticity".
