Denver 2008 Staff Biographies:Linda Ross-Mansfield(Photo courtesy of Chaz Boston Baden's Picture Gallery)Linda’s first Worldcon was SunCon in the Fontenbleu Hotel in Florida. Since then, she has attended every Worldcon except for the Australian ones. She has volunteered at pretty much all of them since her second one, in some capacity. She hasn't kept track exactly, but believes that she has been in staff or higher positions for at least ten Worldcons. She has been in a charge of a couple of "super departments" and held down one officially described 'division,' and has also been on the board for two Worldcons. She has lost count of the other conventions she has worked on or helped organize, since she has been doing it since 1978. She currently sits on the Conadian board, and the Organizing board on Keycon, a local convention which she was instrumental in creating, and which has just completed its 23rd year. She is also involved with two current Worldcon bids. She regularly attends Keycon, Minicon and Valleycon, and tries to get to one or two others each year depending upon time availability. In the past, she has held board positions on her local chapter of Meeting Planners International, and the Game Manufacturers Association Retail Division Board. | ||
