Thinking about working on Denvention? Stop by our Open House on Friday, May 9, between 7pm and 11pm at the Crowne Plaza Denver (1450 Glenarm Place, Denver) to meet committee members and find out about available jobs.
Worldcons are really big and you just won't believe how mind-bogglingly big they really are. It takes a lot of Volunteers to put on a convention of this size; from months of pre- planning all the way through to wrapping up the books. It's a huge undertaking and there are so many aspects of running this show. But they are all done by volunteers.
Volunteers are needed for a wide variety of tasks: registration, checking for badges, crowd management at various functions, helping to set up and tear down exhibits for the convention, displaying items at the Art Auction, newsletter distribution, food preparation for the con suite, running errands and basically performing all the functions that keep things moving smoothly at the convention.
Volunteers do not need a special skill. They just need to have a desire to help in the continuance of a proud tradition that is known the world over as the Worldcon. So please join us! Meet new friends and connect with old ones. Learn a new skill or show yours off. We will be happy to assist you in finding the right position to heighten your experience as a volunteer.
Don't worry that you might not be useful — everyone is! In fact all of the people you see listed as Committee and Staff are volunteers too!
