Membership Purchase Installment Plan
The installment plan is a way to lock in the current low membership rate while paying for it over time. Start by purchasing a Supporting Membership, then make a regular quarterly payment of at least $10. You have until July 2008 to complete payment, at which time you will have a full Attending membership. You may
also cancel your plan at any time for a partial refund (we'll refund the amount you've paid above the cost of your Supporting Membership). You can transfer even if you haven't finished paying for the plan.
The gory details:
- Buy a Supporting Membership. If you voted in site selection for the 2008 Worldcon, you already have a Supporting Membership. While your
Supporting Membership fee is not refundable, the membership may be transferred. See the membership page for our current rates.
- When you send in your membership form, check the "Use installment plan to buy Attending Membership" line. You must purchase an
a Supporting Membership to start the installment plan. The installment plan locks in the current Attending Membership rate.
- If you already have a Supporting Membership, E-mail Prereg or write to Prereg, c/o Denvention, PO Box 1349, Denver, CO 80201 and tell them you want to convert your Supporting to Attending using the installment plan.
- We will contact you, confirming your registration and telling you the total amount you will need to pay to convert to an Attending Membership.
This mail will tell you when you first installment is due and give you specifics on how to make your payments.
- You must pay at least $10 every quarter (every three months). Failure to make this minimum payment may cause us to cancel your installment plan. If a payment is returned for insufficient funds or any other reason, your plan will be cancelled.
- You can cancel your installment plan at any time by contacting Prereg or Prereg, c/o PO Box 1349, Denver, CO 80201. If your plan is cancelled (by you or by the convention), Denvention 3 will refund the amount you paid towards the conversion. Note that the Supporting Membership fee is not refundable. When an installment plan is cancelled, you have forfeited your right to convert at the locked-in rent. A cancelled plan may not be resumed, and you may not start a new installment plan.
- If you are using an installment plan to convert to an Attending Membership, you can transfer your membership (including all paid installments) to another individual at any time. The person you transfer it to is responsible for making the remaining payments as outlined above. If a plan is cancelled after you have made the transfer, any refund due will be sent to the new owner of the membership.
