The Travelling Fête is a relaxicon with a difference. The Fête has a professional Guest of Honor and it give fans a chance to really meet and talk with the guest. The convention moves around the state to usually go where the GoH lives so that fen will get a chance to explore another area of the state.
This is a con where the "the GoH does all the work". The guest is asked to pick a favorite local place where the members of the con can play tourist. Among the sites we have visited are Kennedy Space Center, the Devil's Millhopper, the Salvador Dali Museum, Duval Street and the Corkscrew Sanctuary. The GoH is also asked to do a reading or speech or both. This often happens at "The Moveable Feast" which is held on Saturday night at the hotel or a favorite restaurant of the Guest of Honor.
A tradition at the Travelling Fête is the confluence of the blow-ups. We have a tradition of filling up the hotel pool(s) with blow-up animals, dinosaurs, insects, worlds, and sometimes bizarre items over which a large inflatable Godzilla rules. There are often incredible water battles between the whales and the dinosaurs (inflatable and human alike).
