PROFESSIONAL NEWS
Recent releases by Australian authors include: Wendy Orr's _Mindblowing_
(Allen & Unwin) and Maggie Hamilton's _The Lost Kingdom of Lantia_. Shannah
Jay's _Envoy_ is due from Pan in July.
In The Australian's Weekend Review June 4-5, Terry Dowling reviews Sean
McMullen's _Voices in the Light_, labelling it "Medieval cyberpunk".
Judy Buckrich and Lucy Sussex, in partnership with Sybylla Press, have
gotten money out of the Literature Board for a sfnal project.
STEWART WINS DUFF
1994 DUFF winner Alan Stewart will attend Conadian, the 1994 Worldcon in
Winnipeg and will take over the Australian administration of the fund. The
address for DUFF becomes PO Box 222, World Trade Centre, Melbourne, 3005.
e-mail Alan=Stewart% Chem _Eng%unimelb@muwaye.unimelb. edu.au.
Outgoing administrator Phil Ware, who took on the job after the death of
1992 DUFF winner Roger Weddall reports that the fund has a balance of about
AUS $ 3,800. He thanks those who have supported DUFF.
ONE DOWN TWO TO GO
Ex-faneditor James Styles and wife Aline have a daughter Tess Eleanor Sissa
Styles (born 20/5/94). Is she destined to become an acronymphomaniac?
OENOPHILES DOWN FULLBODIED RED
Having just refurbished their cellars at Osicka's winery near Heathcote on
the 29th of May, Perry Middlemiss and Julian Warner struck a kangaroo.
Perry & Julian were unharmed. The car lost a radiator and much of its front
end. The kangaroo was killed. Perry didn't report on the state of the wine.
(Perry reports that it was an Eastern Grey Kangaroo but why let the facts
destroy a good headline) Don Ashby was less fortunate recently, falling
through a roof and landing on a car rather than a concrete floor. He was
injured badly enough to be hospitalized.
PRATCHETT AT DYMOCKS
Terry Pratchett will be at Dymocks in Melbourne on July 1st 1-2pm.
CONVENTIONAL CHANGES
Dave McDonnell will not be attending Starfest. Novacon 95 has added
