END OF YEAR
Last one for the year!!!!!!
IN PRINT
Horror seems to be the main item on the agenda. In addition to the
publication of BLOODSONGS #6 which features Australian fiction by Dr
Francis Payne, Bryce Stevens and others. Bambada Press have released two
limited edition chapbooks SKIN TIGHT by Bryce Stevens and OLYMPIA by Dr
Payne, the former being a short story collection, while the latter is a
novella. EIDOLON #19 has also hit the stands. It features fiction by Sean
Williams, Robert Hood, Garth Madsen, Stephen Dedman, Karen Attard & Brett
Coulstock, plus assorted review material. BEYOND #3, with a story by
Shannah Jay, has been distributed to newsagents here. (Justin Ackroyd
notes that the distributors do not seem too happy about supplying local sf
specialty shops.)
LOCAL WRITERS CAN TALK TOO
Lucy Sussex reports that she and Steve Paulsen read at The Literary Feast,
a celebration of writers and writing (chiefly for children) held at
Presentation College Windsor on November 27. Over 20 writers read to an
audience of over 200, each being allowed 3 minutes. Other speakers
included John Marsden and Nadia Wheatley. Lucy also read at the
Montsalvat Spoken Word Festival, December 3. Lucy's If I Eat Your Soul,
now retitled The Scarlet Rider, will be distributed in Australia by
Pan-Macmillan.
ELLISON IN SYDNEY
Harlan Ellison will be in Sydney January 5-7 at the Powerhouse Museum

CONVENTION INFORMATION
Martin Livings, on behalf of The Festival of the Imagination notes :
"Apologies to all expecting the October newsletter to come out in October,
but our attempts to find another guest to replace Bruce Sterling - who had
to withdraw at the last second due to his wife expecting a child in April
- took a little longer than anticipated. We're pleased to announce that we
have a new guest, and are looking forward to having Jack Dann, who
recently moved to Australia, at the Festival.
The Festival web site has moved. It can now be found at:
