DANN & LUCKETT ARE STILL BUSY
Jack Dann notes "The trade paperback version of The Memory
Cathedral sold out its first printing with pre-orders, and
Bantam went back for a second edition before publication.
HarperCollins Australia is publishing the book in March as part
of their Flamingo literary line. Lubbe in Germany published it in
August. My road novel Counting Coup (White Wolf) has been
rescheduled for July, but will now be a hard cover instead of a
trade paperback. I'm concentrating on The Silent, my Civil War
novel (Bantam), but I do have another "Renaissance" novel in the
works entitled Ariel's Island. It's Jack's version of The
Tempest from the point of view of the spirit Ariel. I've got a
website, which is under construction.
http://www.midnight.com.au/eidolon/09_dann/jd-home.html
And I just found out that The Memory Cathedral and "Da Vinci
Rising" made the preliminary Nebula ballot."
Dave Luckett notes " I'm just in the process of selling my fifth
short book to Omnibus, and the last-but-one has sold in Italy,
of all places."
PEOPLE
Race Matthews has appeared in the papers recently, commenting on
the current situation regarding deaths of children under the
protection of Community Services. Race is a former Minister for
Community Services.

INTERNET
"After much effort and deliberation the Net has laboured and
given forth aus.sf.wasff. WASFF is the Western Australian
Science Fiction Foundation. Its purpose is to assist and support
the development and advancement of SF in WA. Our major function
is to backstop the annual SwanCon regional science fiction
convention (which is also sometimes the national
convention(NatCon), as it was in 1996). WASFF helps to provide
information, assistance, and even sometimes funding, for projects
in WA that are consistent with the organisations aims. This
newsgroup is intended as a forum where inquiries can be made of
WASFF, or where WASFF can post information of interest to
fandom(s) or the wider community." Mark Bivens Administrator,
WASFF.
