DITMAR & TIN DUCK NOMINATIONS OPEN
Swancon 25 has announced the opening of nominations for
the 2000 Australian Science Fiction Achievement Awards. A
nominating ballot will be attached to paper copies of this issue
and is available electronically at
http://www.vicnet.net.au/~sfoz/ditnom00.htm. Swancon are also
offering on-line nominating at their website
http://www.swancon.iinet.net.au though, as of 21/2/2000 only the
Tin Duck nomination form was up and running. According to the
Swancon Web Site "The Tin Duck Awards recognise the achievement of
inderviduals and groups in the fields of science fiction, fantasy
and horror in Western Australia. Only Western Australian
inderviduals and groups may be niminated in this category." I
trust they have a category for creative spelling.
The Deadline for nominations is 31/03/2000. Assuming that
it takes them a week to get voting forms to members, that'll leave
about two weeks for voting. Only members of Swancon 25 may vote.
The categories for this years Australian Science Fiction
Achievement Awards are Best Written Work (Professional); Best
Written Work (Unpaid Or Fan); Best Professional Production In Any
Medium; Best Non-Professional Production In Any Medium; Best
Artwork (Professional); Best Artwork (Unpaid Or Fan) William
Atheling Award For Criticism Or Review
