BIZARRE SCIENCE FICTION NEWS

In Dick & Leah Smith's delightful Old Fan's Almanac which,
coincidentally reached me barely a month after I'd sent off my
2000 Hugo Nomination ballot, it is revealed that Barbara
Hambly is a time traveller. She will, according to the
Almanac, celebrate her 50th Birthday on August 28th 2000 and
her 49th Birthday on August 29th 2000. (I only noticed because
I looked up my own birthday, and discovered that I shared it
with one of the Barbara Hamblies, Jack Vance and Vonda
McIntyre.)

FAN FUNDS

Karen Pender-Gunn notes "In April the sponsorship of the
Fijian Banded Iguana at Melbourne Zoo in Ian's name comes up
for renewal. This is the time to send off that donation you
have been meaning to for a while. Lets make this a record year
for the Reptile enclosure and the Fijian Banded Iguana!
Donation can be sent to the Ian Gunn Memorial Fund (cheques
make to that name please) at PO Box 567, Blackburn Victoria
3130. The Ian Gunn Memorial Fund and Ian's bio are now on the
web page http://www.ozramp.net.au/~fiawol - check it out for
more details!
