THUMBNAIL REVIEW: ALISTAIR REYNOLDS' novel, "Pushing Ice" was my first
read for 2007, and a good choice. It's about the crew of a mining ship
that potters around the solar system at sub-light speed latching on to
meteorites to push back to Earth. Given the resources boom we're
having, it seems a very apt background. When the moon,  Janus, turns
out to be a spaceship that takes off across the solar system and looks
like it's heading for home, the crew of a mining ship, Rockhopper are
sent in pursuit, I haven't finished it yet, but I'm really enjoying it.
Reynolds' new book, The Prefect, will be released in June.
