That party up in

770

????? began as two separate parties.

There was the small gathering in 770 and the crowd in Frank Dietz' room.

We were observing the crowd in Dietz' room ...

Bishop and Walthers supplied the
first Zap gun of the Con.
The two literary souls in the background
are Jack Speer and his lovely wife.
The lad in the foreground is either
Sims or Dietz ...

... but after the third or fourth complaint, we had decided that Dietz' room was too small for a party of such magnitude. Then we remembered Keasler's room, 770. Room 770 was tucked safely away inside a stairwell, where a party could have magnitude without being continually disturbed by the house detective and it was large ... as large as two average rooms ... so we passed the word, "The party is moving to 770."

Bottles, glasses, zip-guns, and tomahawks were gathered up and the group proceeded to 770 ...

(illo: Proceeding to room 770)

(illo: ... By osmosis ...)

(illo: Ed Walthers' wide awake get-up-and-go made him the life of the party (actually he was under the bed))

(illo: Lee Jacobs and his GOD)

The party was going until 11 the next morning. (I had quit around 3 and gone to bed.) Around 11 Dietz, Sims, Cox, and Briggs (?) and I went out for breakfast. They reported that the party was still in action when they had left.

After the official proceedings of that day, it re-convened in 770 ...
