MOON SHADES

by HENRY ANDREW ACKERMAN

Shades on the moon
Are sorcery
That dwells deep in
Wells of the brain.
Life to surmises
Of eternity;
Death to the brave
In space flight slain.

A quick gloom - my
Eyes credulous
Stare at enigma.
Over the haziness
Of palid light
Creeps and oozes
An ominous
Veil of blackness
Prelude to starkness
And eternal night?
