Before me, strong in silent majesty,
With many-columned portals limned,
A gateway to the ancient lands I see,
That was before the first clean sunlight dimned.
And nameless hues of demesnes now unknown,
Scintilated when the first sunset shone.
A well-worn path to that high lintel wends,
By what forgotten feet worn, none can tell,
I heard the mystic lure the siren sends,
And quaffed the jug of moon-beams each goblin vends.
