w69m004.jpeg [36KB]: Kathy Bushman as Vampirella. The Vampirella comic had just debuted two months earlier and Kathy was the first person to make a Vampirella costume. Since she didn't have a sewing machine at the time, Kathy made it by hand and wore pumps because she didn't have boots but Kathy's efforts won her an "Honorable Mention" at the masquerade. From such a humble beginning Kathy would soon become one of WorldCon's greatest costumers. Brava Kathy!
