Kenneth Arnold, who first reported flying saucers, spoke at the convention. About a year or two later he came out with a book with Ray Palmer also credited - The Coming of the Saucers. Palmer published it. Palmer had published an earlier article by Arnold in the first issue of Fate magazine in 1948, according to Wikipedia.
