VAPA, the Vanguard Amateur Press Association also initially known as GAPA (Gothic APA) and/or MAPA (the Modern APA). Fandom's second APA was a spin-off from FAPA that fancied itself fanzine fandom's intellectual elite. It started in 1945 and lasted about 10 years.
